Agora Madrid International School's learning methodology guarantees a comprehensive preparation with which students receive extensive academic and personal learning, always under the guidance and experience of highly qualified and committed teachers.

Our learning methodology relies on the teaching staff to encourage learning which invites students to be independent and to think creatively and accurately. We place great importance on the acquisition of essential skills such as communication, critical thinking and teamwork. We rely on the use of new technologies, incorporating computers in all areas of the curriculum and develop specific study programmes to support students in reaching their full potential.

The international environment is another essential pillar of the school's learning methodology, as part of the Globeducate educational group. International cultural experiences and language immersion play an important role in all stages of the educational project.

Critical thinking

We want all pupils at Agora Madrid International School to "learn to learn" and thus ensure that each one of them acquires full intellectual autonomy. We work on certain skills from Infant Education to encourage critical thinking, introducing this vocation from an early age. Then, throughout all stages of education, students learn to investigate, analyse, evaluate and create, developing their own ideas and taking the lead in their learning process.

Agora Madrid International School, like all the other institutions which form part of the Globeducate group, is characterised by educational innovation. We understand educational innovation as the incorporation of new activities into the learning process which complement and improve the traditional curriculum. This educational innovation allows us to improve results and promote the academic and personal success of all our students.

Our educational project contemplates a methodology that goes beyond the traditional classroom. Within the curriculum we introduce activities traditionally considered co-curricular, such as sport, music and creative arts, in order to ensure a comprhensive education. These activities allow pupils to develop multiple intelligences and enhance their talents and interests.

For our school, fostering an international and multilingual environment also forms part of our educational innovation. Students at Agora Madrid International School grow up in a very diverse cultural environment guided by native and bilingual teachers who, thanks to their extensive experience and professionalism, guarantee a broad and deep linguistic immersion. We consider it essential to learn English as a first foreign language. However, our educational offer is also enriched with French, German and Chinese.

New technologies are one of the basic pillars of society. In this sense, it is essential for our school to offer this reality to all students. ICT (Information and Communication Technologies) form part of the learning process and are considered to be another tool in each of the educational areas. In 5th Year of Primary Education, pupils are using tablets for the first time as another element for learning.

Thus, our learning methodology is characterised by being innovative. Through our educational excellence, the multilingual environment, the use of ICT in the classroom and excellence in co-curricular activities, we promote personalised learning taking into account the motivations and abilities of each pupil.

Agora Madrid uses information and communication technologies within the instrumental methodology of a curriculum based on constant development and innovation. New technologies are used as an integrated tool in the teaching-learning process, which represents a major change in the quality of teaching and training of pupils. We understand that every progress must be used to collect, retain, manipulate or share knowledge and technology is an inexhaustible source of techniques as an educational tool: coding, for example, offers possibilities for problem solving and develops students' ability to "learn to learn", providing them with intellectual and pedagogical resources, as well as a solid basis for accessing future careers.

Gavea Project

Agora Madrid International School was a pioneer in the implementation of the GAVEA Project (Virtual Classroom Management for Academic Excellence), present in all Globeducate schools, in which tablets, digital whiteboards and interactive materials provide an added motivational component to school activities as a source of teaching resources, always under supervision and with limited daily use. Thanks to this project, new technological tools enhance learning, promote the development of cognitive skills and encourage cooperative activities, as well as enabling students to acquire basic digital competences.

In order to ensure Educational Excellence and to monitor and improve the quality of teaching and learning at Globeducate Schools, a quality control process known as the Globeducate Platinum Standard has been introduced. The Globeducate Platinum Standard helps schools to assess the quality of the education that they offer in line with best practice from education systems from around the world. The programme establishes a comprehensive evaluation process based upon a set of quality indicators that provide improvement plans for clearly defined areas such as the quality of education, the effectiveness of leadership or the progress and welfare of the students.further information about Globeducate Platinum Standard
