The overall benefits of participating in activities outside the mainstream curriculum are immeasurable but include advantages such as improved time management and personal organisation, a chance to acquire new skills and improve established ones, spending time with friends and classmates in a more relaxed and fun learning environment, and developing skills such as teamwork, co-operation, self-discipline, and self-motivation. Activities include sports, music, creative and dramatic arts, languages, robotics and computing and much, much more…
Sporting activities and Sports Club
In addition to the obvious health and fitness benefits, sports help to develop physical skills specific to the particular sport involved, general physical skills such as flexibility, coordination, strength and stamina and a whole range of additional personal traits such as the ability to work effectively as part of a team, cooperative and leadership skills, self-discipline and self-motivation. We offer mini-tenis, basketball School, paddle, chess and Infant Football School. In addition, we have sports clubs for the following sports: volleyball, 7-a-side Football and basketball.
School of Performing Arts Sing and Dance Project Víctor Ullate Roche
On Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. through the Sing and Dance Project Víctor Ullate Roche School of Performing Arts, we offer our students the opportunity to learn dance and performing arts from Víctor Ullate Roche, director of the only private professional dance conservatory and higher school of dramatic arts, where students will enjoy an exciting journey through dance, singing and acting and privileges in professional accesses.
Students star in shows such as Peter Pan, Miliki's Dream, The Choirboys, Matilda and The Lion King, and have worked in productions such as Anastasia and Billy Elliot.
The disciplines that our students work on are: acrobatics, ballet, jazz, tap, urban, interpretation and singing
Music School
The Agora International-Fabordón Music School provides our musical students with a professional musical education, starting from eight years old and continuing through to adulthood. The Music school provides structured access to music in all its forms; classical, rock, pop, music theory, singing and so on. The Music School is an official examinations centre for the Trinity College London Music Examinations which also enables our rock and pop musicians to gain recognised qualifications in their specific musical disciplines including:
- 1st and 2nd Formal Education (musical language group, instrument, instrumental group and orchestra)
- 3rd and 4th Formal Education (musical language group, instrument, instrumental, orchestra and choral group)
- Theoretical Subject
- Instrumental classes
- Combo (Musical Language, Language of Music and instrument)
- Musical groups (combo, chorus, guitars group and orchestra)
Art school
Painting and drawing are activities that help to focus the mind and the expressive and creative nature of these activities, helps to develop skills such as concentration, self-discipline and sensitivity. In order to develop these creative capacities, students learn to express their ideas and have fun with their classmates through classes in:
- Water colours
- Pastels
- Charcoal
- Oil painting
Robotix
Enthusiasm, creativity, ingenuity and lots of imagination are required by the students who opt for Robotix and pupils have to engage their problem solving and critical thinking skills in order to face the challenges of each mission. Children learn to design, build, program and launch robots. Workshops are offered in the following areas:
- Robostem Junior (Primary 1st to 3rd)
- Robostem Master (Primary 4th and 5th)
- Robostem Pro (Primary 6th and Secondary)
Languages
The after-school language programme is designed to help children to improve understanding and fluency in their chosen language, and explores grammar, syntax and semantics as well as working on fluency, clarity and communication skills. Learn individually or in small groups:
- German
- French
- Chinese
- Language support (Spanish and English)
Speech Therapy and academic tutoring
Aimed at students who present difficulties in verbal or written communication and require help to reach the level appropriate to their age. Examples of areas addressed are dyslalia, stuttering, dyslexia, reading and writing difficulties… They also have Maths and Language reinforcement.
