History of the school

Agora Madrid International School is a private bilingual school founded in 1981 which is characterized by educational excellence, integral education and personalized attention to each student. In 2006 it became part of the Globeducate educational organization, contributing to the formation of a global network of more than 50 schools in the world through an international education and fundamental values for our students.

Our educational project

IB: A model for the future

Agora Madrid International School is authorised to deliver the International Baccalaureate® (IB) Diploma Programme (DP) at Post 16 level, and is a registered IB World School, a forward-thinking educational model that focuses on developing key competences and helping students to work towards achieving academic, personal and professional success within an international context.

Multilingualism

We prepare our students for an international future. Our curriculum is multilingual, focussing on achieving complete fluency in English and Spanish, and also offering Chinese, French and German at various stages of the curriculum. As the school is a registered examinations centre, students are offered the opportunity to prepare for a range of official language qualifications including Trinity College London and University of Cambridge English Language papers

STEAM: Science and Arts

Art and Science through STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics) form an integral part of a child’s development and provide enormous cognitive and personal benefits, enhancing communication skills and building confidence and self-esteem. The school has its own Music Academy, the Conservatorio Fabordón, which enables our students to work towards the Elementary Music Certificate, and, should they choose to further their musical studies, pupils can go on to complete their Professional Music qualifications. We work closely with the Víctor Ullate Roche School of Performing Arts, in particular as part of the “Sing & Dance Project”.

Sport, Health & Fitness

In addition to the evident physical and psychological benefits of a healthy and active lifestyle, participation in sporting activity encourages students to develop personal characteristics such as perseverance, self-discipline, teamwork and cooperation. Our students engage in more than 14 different sports; the school also runs 6 extra-curricular sports clubs that enter teams into the local federated leagues. As well as taking part in sports within the mainstream curriculum, students are also invited to participate in a range of international sporting events organised by the Globeducate group.

Shaping the world

Children entering education today will graduate as young adults in 2030. Our mission is to prepare them for jobs that have not yet been created, for technologies that have not yet been invented, and to solve problems that have not yet been anticipated. We must encourage our young people to embrace and shape their own futures and to understand that they form part of a wider international community and are capable of changing the world.
